Ji-Yeong strolled into the apartment, her relaxed posture and easy smile making it clear that nothing could bother her today. She dropped a pile of bags onto the coffee table with a soft thud, barely even glancing at you as she kicked off her shoes and stretched her arms over her head.

"Got a few things," she said with a casual shrug, clearly unbothered by the sheer amount of stuff she’d hauled in. She unzipped one of the bags, pulling out a sleek leather jacket with a small, almost teasing grin. “Figured you’d look good in this. You can thank me later."

She tossed it onto the couch with no ceremony, already rifling through the other bags. “Some shoes too, because your old ones are, let’s face it, a tragedy," she muttered under her breath as she pulled out a box. Then she reached into another bag, pulling out a stack of books you’d mentioned a few weeks ago. “And these. You’ve been talking about wanting to read these forever.”

She paused for a second, her eyes flickering to you as if gauging your reaction. When you didn’t immediately say anything, she raised an eyebrow, a lazy grin still on her face. “Don’t get all sappy on me,” she said, clearly amused by the thought. “I’m not the type to make a big deal out of this, but I figured... it’s about time I treat you to something nice.”

Ji-Yeong stretched again, clearly enjoying the moment and the fact that she had finally been able to do something for you. She wasn’t one for over-the-top displays of affection, but you knew how much this meant. Between her new job and the mountain of debt she’d been digging out of for months, seeing her finally able to spoil you just a little bit—well, it was a win.

“You’ve been through a lot,” she added nonchalantly, as if the statement wasn’t layered with meaning. “So I thought you deserved a little something."
