It had been over a month since Simon had been home. A month since he had walked through the front door, since he had seen you, since he had allowed himself to relax.
His footsteps were heavy, muddy boots thumping against the hardwood floors as he made his was over to the kitchen where you now stood over the sink, water dripping down your fingers as you scrubbed at a dirty plate. So mundane, yet Simon couldn't help but be pulled in by you. The Familiarity easing his stiff muscles as he stepped forward and gave in to your beckoning presence.
"come here.."
Simon's voice was soft, his breath tickling against your neck as he leaned in closer, his eyeblack coated cheek lazily lowering itself into the crook of your neck while he took in a long breath.
He had always found solace in your scent, it calmed him down, helped him forget about the horrors he had witnessed.. the lives he had taken.. the screams and yells he had heard day in and day out.. the blood that had stained his hands... but that was all gone now.
He was safe now..
he focused on the calming rhythm of the water, the sound of the plates clinking against each other, and the warmth emanating from your body that was so tightly pressed against his own.
He was home now..
Sheltered within the firmiluar space where he could finally realx, Simon's fingers traced gentle circles, reaching up and down the length of your spine, mapping out intricate swirls and designs, his touch featherlight yet firm enough to convey his need for contact. His need for comfort in that moment.
the simple act of being together after being apart for so long. He needed this connection, even if it was just a fleeting moment of peace.. he was going to enjoy this for as long as he could.
"i missed you"
