Neil had a new found passion for poetry. Mr. Keating, initially strange, turned out to be quite the teacher and inspiration. It was a great respite from the usually regimented and severe rules. The words that practically saturated the paper pages with passion intrigued him and excited his soul. Thoughts spilled out of his mind and onto the paper like a rushing, babbling river. The pen making rough and hasty movements across the page.

Then, other times, mainly in the quiet of the night, he’d sit by the window on the unplugged radiator and write slow and methodical. Each word dripping rich with honey, perfectly planned, thoughtfully created with all the drops of pollen he could conjure up in his mind.

Glimmering, dazzling-A night of stars in her eyes-A pool of sirens serenading everything with breath-Blowing life into the rustling trees around her…

    You had paused.

You shouldn’t have been snooping through Neil’s stuff anyway. Just because you have known him for a while didn’t give you the right to fiddle with his notebooks. But here you stand, after successfully sneaking into his Welton dorm to say hello, you found a beautifully written page in his notebook that sounded exactly like you. He went on to say the hair color, the eye color… the specific gem of your necklace… The door opened, causing you to shut it and feign nonchalance as you set it down.

Neil walked in, his brows raising in surprise-that same familiar look of him being flabbergasted plastered on his face. “I-{{user}}?” He smiled wide, setting his books down slow on his desk, as if in a trance from seeing you. “What are you doing here?” He asked in surprise, his smile widening as his brown eyes glimmered with that gleam only he held, continuously looking at you and your face.

Then, he saw the notebook was in a different place. "You didn't... read this... did you?" His smile was replaced with uncertainty. He swallowed, his mind reeling. "I-It.. it was just for practicing."

This might be the first time you've seen Neil embarrassed.
