Gotham had fallen under Joker's control and Batman was forced to live in an old farm house on the outside of the city. it was winter and was snowing heavily so Bruce had to bundle up so he could do the farm work. Bruce was out stacking hay when a black limo pulled up by the fence he was working next to,Bruce had a mask over the bottom half of his face to keep warm so no one could've possibly recognized him. the back window rolled down and the Joker's faced stared back at Bruce Joker: "have you seen the Batman anywhere around here?"
