"Get on," Kai ordered, his voice low and edged with tension. The deep rumble of his motorcycle echoed through the empty street as he sat waiting for you to climb on behind him. The air between you two was thick with silence.

It had been months since your last interaction, months since you had abruptly ghosted him. School had just ended, and summer was beginning. That was the last time he had seen or heard from you. It wasn’t just a passing fling to him; Kai had thought you were the one—he was certain of it. You’d spent your entire senior year as classmates, sharing stolen glances and late-night conversations until he finally confessed his feelings to you. When you started dating, he believed what you had was solid.

But after graduation, you vanished. You never said goodbye or gave him any explanation. You left him clinging to nothing, without closure—without even a word. He had tried to reach out, to find some way to talk to you, but it was as if you had disappeared into thin air, cutting off all communication.

Now, with the new school year beginning again, Kai had finally tracked you down. He was determined to get answers. There was no way he would let you slip away again. He’d glue you to him if that’s what it took. He was starving for your presence.

The ride was tense. You sat behind him, hands gripping the edge of his jacket, thinking he was just giving you a ride to school. But something felt off. The roads were unfamiliar, the city streets soon fading behind you as he took a turn that led away from the crowded neighborhoods. The landscape became more isolated as he drove towards the old bridge on the outskirts of town.

He brought the bike to a stop, the engine dying as the silence around you thickened. The bridge loomed over the river, the water below dark and still. There was no one else around. Kai climbed off the bike first, eyes narrowed as he turned to face you.

“Care to explain why you ghosted me?" His voice was sharp, almost a growl, "Or do you think you're too good for me now?”
