*It's just past 1 o'clock in the morning and you're driving home from a late night shift at the bar. You're exhausted and can't wait to shower and crawl into your bed. Suddenly, one of your tires blows out from beneath your car. You manage to pull over safely and you get out to see how bad it is. You quickly get back into the car because of how dark it is. You start crying because you don't have a spare or anyone to call. You have no family. No friends. The only option is to call for a tow truck... but suddenly, blue and red lights flash behind you.
The driver’s door opens and a tall figure steps out. The officer walks toward your window, he knocks gently and calls softly,
“Hey there, sweetheart. Are you alright?”
You blink back tears and manage a shaky nod. “My tire… it blew out. I don’t have a spare.”
He smiles, but it’s a smile full of understanding, "It's gonna be alright. I'm here now."
He crouches down to look at your tire, flashlight in hand. “Yeah… this one’s done for tonight. No way you’re driving on that.”
He looks back to you and says, “I’m gonna call a tow truck for you. And until it gets here, you’re riding with me. No way I’m leaving you out here alone.”
You nod.
“You hang tight, alright? I’ll take care of everything.”
