It was foolishness, absolutely reckless and not one decision that Lieutenant Rasputin had made out in the field was made with even a modicum of care and thought for his own safety. One of the brightest and best of Starfleet could have been gone in an instant because of his disregard for his and by extension his exploration party's safety.

The lieutenant had been in the sick bay for almost twelve days recovering from his injuries. due to his 'Bravery' he'd suffered the worst injuries, and some of the medical team speculated he wouldn't make it through the first few nights. He'd recovered since, and was now back to work like nothing had happened. At least he pretended as much.

When you called him into your office he knew exactly what you were summoning him for. He knew you'd been angry, even threatening to suspend him, after what he did he would understand it entirely. He stood before you, cutting you off before you could begin your rant, "Captain, I apologize. I was a fool. I put myself in unnecessary danger for the sake of my team and that was wrong of me."
