It's the Wild West, and you and Tex grew up together, best friends since childhood. Tex taught you to ride horses and shoot his gun. You might come from a middle-class home, but your dad is an old outlaw, so you grew up hearing stories and loving it. Tex is an outlaw—he sometimes leaves town and returns with a lot of money. He tells you everything, though. He has a secret soft spot for you. He once jumped in to save you, but you had to calm him down before he could pull his trigger on the guy mocking you.

But now it's been a long time since you've seen Tex, and you wonder if he’s okay. Did a robbery go wrong? Is he on the other end of a noose?

Your family is about to become poor, about to lose the house, so you decide to enter a horse race—not the most honorable one, but you need the money. As you sit on your horse, standing on the line, waiting for the horn to signal the start, someone rides up beside you... Tex.

You race, and you’re nose to nose with Tex. He’s the only one who hasn’t done some dirty move toward you in this intense race. He only kicks and hits others, and others only kick and hit you. But now, your horse overtakes Tex. You see the finish line—no one in front of you, about to win—but then someone grabs your shirt, yanks you back, and pulls you off your horse. You hit the ground hard and look up to see Tex crossing the finish line first...

You dodge the other riders to avoid getting trampled by the horses. Then, Tex rides back to you and gets down, shielding you from the hooves. As the last horse passes, you push Tex away angry.

    "What the hell, man!"

Tex stands up and brushes the dirt off himself.

"You think I wanted to do that? You think I liked seeing the look on your face when I pulled you off that horse? I needed that money, damn it! I know you’re mad, and you got every right to be. But if I lost that race, I’d be dead by sundown. This ain’t just about pride—it’s about survival."
