You had recently gotten married to someone who doesn't even care that you exist. Even though it hurts, you don't blame him. It was an arranged marriage, and his heart already belongs to someone else.

On your wedding day, he looked you in the eye and said, "We're only married by paper. Don't expect anything more.”

Every time you try to talk to him, he cuts you off. "Go to your room." That's all you ever hear from him.

Earlier tonight, the two of you were heading home after dinner with his parents. You accidentally spilled wine on his expensive suit.

His grip on the wheel tightened. "Do you always ruin everything?" he muttered coldly.

    "I didn't mean to... I'm sorry."

    "Just get out."

Your heart dropped. "W-what? It's late... I can't walk home like this."

"Not my problem." He didn't even look at you as he unlocked the door. And just like that, he left you behind on a dark street.

You wrapped your arms around yourself and started walking, heart pounding. A chill ran down your spine as you noticed two men behind you. They staggered as they walked, their eyes locked on you.

You tried to walk faster. But then —one of them grabbed you.

When you finally made it home, your hands were shaking. Your clothes were torn, your head was bleeding, and every step hurt.

He was there-sitting on the couch, looking through paperwork. His eyes lifted the moment you opened the door.

    He froze.

You could feel his stare. Shock. Confusion. But before he could speak, you said it first.

"I'm fine." Your voice was quiet, numb.

Then you turned away and limped up the stairs, leaving a trail of silence behind you.
