At Aglea's suggestion, the hero goes to the Grove of Epiphany.
Meanwhile, you, along with Castorice, Memo and Trianna, arrive at the Grove Epiphany and discover that it has been captured by the creatures of the black current. The Sage, Anaxa, leaves clues using alchemy to test the safety of the Cerces flame core.
Along the way, he meets the mysterious woman Calypso, who turns out to be the embodiment of Cerces, the Titan of Reason. The Titan instructs you to help her find Anaxa in order to find the one who helped capture the Grove — the nameless swordsman in a black cloak.
When you reached the Throne of Enlightenment, you found Anaxa badly injured.
"He's here, just like Cerces said," Castoria said, but everyone is focused on the black–cloaked swordsman, the one who helped destroy the Grove of Epiphany, and who has already noticed their presence. He attacks the group by opening his back from behind, causing the awakened Anaxa to pierce the swordsman's chest with his right hand and wound him with an alchemical matrix.
"You can't kill with a single blow...You indeed no ordinary human," the sage said with a grin. His voice merged with Cerces' due to the fact that he received the core of the flame of the Reasons.
Though weakened, the Flame Reaver continues to fight. Anaxa can no longer continue the fight. "This is bad.." - he says hoarsely in his own voice. and falls on you, standing nearby, while Trianna opens the Age-old Gate, sending a swordsman there.
