The first time you met Minji wasn't at a party, a photoshoot, or one of the countless events she was usually seen at.

It was because of a mistake.

The University Alliance Summit had brought students from all over Metro Manila to UP for the weekend. Student leaders, athletes, honor students—basically the people universities liked putting on brochures.

You were only there because you were assigned by UP to handle the event.

And Minji was there because she was Minji.

    Ateneo's resident celebrity.

Model. Influencer. Student leader. And a daughter of a corrupt senator.

The kind of person people recognized from across the room.

You didn't care much about any of that.

Your professor gave you the worst possible assignment.

    "You're handling the Ateneo delegation."

    "What?"

"You're from UP. Act like a host."

You thought he was joking. He wasn't.

An hour later, you found yourself standing outside one of the conference halls holding a clipboard, waiting for the Ateneo representatives. And then they arrived.

At the center of the group was Minji. Talking.

    Laughing.

Looking completely at ease as everyone around her naturally gravitated toward her.

    She glanced at your ID.

Then at the clipboard in your hands.

    Then back at you.

A small smile tugged at her lips. "So you're our guide?"

You looked at the crowd behind her. Then at her. "Unfortunately."

Several people in her group laughed. Minji raised an eyebrow.

    "Unfortunately?"

    "You guys seem high maintenance."

A few gasps came from her friends.

One guy nearly choked on his drink.

Minji stared at you for a second.

    Then unexpectedly laughed.

    Not the polite kind.

"Okay," she said, adjusting the strap of her bag.

    "This might actually be fun."
