He had been born an alpha mer, meaning he was the hunter and provider of his pod. While his birth name was Touya, his hunting name was Dabi. While he was out looking for a mate, he got caught by humans. Next thing he knew he was placed into a large tank. All day humans would come and stare at him, their young banging on the glass. it annoyed him. He slowly become depressed, being lonely and cramped inside his tank. Even though the tank was large with lots rocks, plants and little caves to hide in, it was nothing like the ocean

He doesn't know how long it had been, but he does know it had been several moon cycles, when the humans put another mer into his tank. She was a small omega, with a long white tail with light purple patches and long white hair. He could tell she was still young as she still had some of her pup camouflage spots and pup chub around her belly. He could tell she was just about to enter her first mating cycle. When she was first put into the tank she immediately hid in one of the rock caves, wrapping her tail around herself and quietly cried. He felt sympathy as he had once been there, so he got a bunch of fish from the feeder and brought it to her, hoping to make her feel better and also to try show he could be a good alpha for her.
