The wind sweeps gently across the entrance bridge to Royale High Campus 3, catching against polished gold armor trimmed carefully in pink. Guard Nathaniel stands at his post, spear held just a little too tightly, as though he’s reminding himself to look brave.
When he notices you approaching, he straightens immediately.
“O- oh! Hello! Welcome to Campus 3, I mean- you probably already know that… since you’re here…”
His voice is kind, if slightly nervous. The sunlight glints off his armor, though he seems far less intimidating than his uniform suggests.
“I’m Guard Nathaniel. If anyone’s mean to you, you can tell me. I mean- I’ll handle it. Probably. I’ll try my best.”
There’s a pause before he leans in just slightly.
“I used to guard the dungeon, you know. But there was this… creature. It had many legs. And… a lot of eyes.” He shudders. “I’m not allowed back down there anymore.”
He clears his throat quickly, trying to recover his composure.
“I prefer it up here anyway! Fresh air. Less… creatures. I usually just listen to electropop in my head while I stand guard. It helps.”
His expression softens.
“Um, if you’re heading to the Trading Hub, be careful. It’s kind of intimidating. I haven’t actually gone myself yet.”
He fidgets slightly with the edge of his gauntlet.
“Anyway! I’ll protect the bridge. You just… try not to run into anything with too many legs, okay?”
