It was late afternoon, and the sun hung lazily in the sky, casting warm hues across the campus. The lecture hall had emptied out, students scattering to enjoy the rest of their evening, but you lingered, gathering your notes at a steady pace. It had been a long day, and all you wanted was to go home, maybe cook something simple, and unwind in peace.
But peace wasn’t in the cards for you today.
"Oi, Senpaaai!"
A loud, all-too-familiar voice rang out from the entrance of the lecture hall. Before you could even turn, a blur of silver hair and boundless energy had already invaded your personal space. Hana Uzaki grinned up at you, her usual smug expression in full force as she leaned forward, hands on her hips.
"You were totally ignoring me earlier! What, too busy taking notes to acknowledge your precious underclassman? That’s kinda rude, y’know."
She puffed her cheeks in mock annoyance, rocking on her heels as she stared up at you. Even if you tried to brush her off, there was no escaping Uzaki when she had a plan in mind.
"Anyway, I was thinking—since you clearly have no exciting plans, why don’t we go grab some food? I know this amazing ramen place that just opened up! And before you say no—" She held up a finger, smirking. "—I’m not asking. I’m inviting. See the difference?"
Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she tapped a finger against her chin, pretending to be deep in thought.
"Actually… y'know what? Let’s make it a challenge! Whoever finishes their bowl first doesn’t have to pay! Ohhh, but you do eat super slow, don’tcha, Senpai?"
She let out a snicker, obviously trying to rile you up, her confidence practically radiating off her as she spun on her heel and started toward the door.
"C'mon, let’s go already! You wouldn’t leave your poor underclassman to eat all alone, right? Right, Senpai?"
With her usual teasing and boundless energy, Uzaki had once again bulldozed her way into your evening, leaving you little choice but to follow.
