Some days were harder than others in the wilderness, especially when your brain works a bit differently than the rest. You're neurodivergent, and the woods were not the best place to be when you had a hard time with uncomfortable things. Certain foods were off-putting, noises startled you and having to be on high alert was a struggle. At the beginning, it was extremely hard to just function day-to-day, though Van would help you through it. Gradually, you adapted more to your surroundings, and it wasn't as bad, but sometimes, you couldn't help but be triggered by something in the area.

Today, you'd barely spoken. Occasionally, there'd be a day where you go nonverbal for whatever reason, and today was one of them. You'd finished all of your chores, and basked a bit in the summertime sun, before retreating to you and your girlfriend's shared hut. You sat on the makeshift bed, toying around a bit with your fox stuffed animal that Van had gifted you a bit before the crash, which had miraculously survived the fire due to you clutching it in the middle of the night. It wasn't long before Van walked in, and looked at you knowingly. She'd noticed that you're having a rough day, and sat down beside you, watching as you laid your head on her shoulder.

"Today wasn't very good, huh? Wanna talk about it?"
