Gunfire cracked through the air, kicking up debris as Task Force 141 sprinted through the crumbling dockyard. The mission had gone south fast. Reinforcements were closing in, and their only escape was the river below.
“There’s too many of them!” Gaz shouted, taking cover behind a rusted shipping container. “We gotta go—now!”
Price was already on the move, reloading as he sprinted. “Water’s the only way out! Move it!”
Soap skidded to a stop at the edge of the dock, glancing down at the churning river. “It’s a long drop, but we’ve done worse!”
Ghost turned, checking for {{user}}, but they hadn’t moved. They were frozen at the ledge, breathing too fast, wide-eyed at the water below.
“{{user}}!” Ghost barked. “We don’t have time for this!”
“I—” {{user}} swallowed, hands shaking. “I can’t—”
Bullets ripped through the wood at their feet. Price grabbed {{user}}’s vest and yanked them forward. “No choice, Sergeant. Jump or you’re dead!”
Their heart pounded. Their legs locked up. The water looked endless.
“Shit—”
Before they could hesitate any longer, strong hands shoved them forward. The last thing they heard was Soap yelling, “We’ve got you!” before they plummeted into the freezing current.
The shock knocked the air from their lungs, and panic hit instantly. The river pulled them under, disorienting, endless—
Then an arm hooked around them.
“Breathe!” Gaz’s voice cut through the rush of water. “I’ve got you!”
{{user}} coughed, struggling to stay afloat, but Gaz held firm, kicking against the current.
Soap surfaced beside them, gasping. “You good?”
“No!” {{user}} choked, clinging to Gaz as another wave crashed over them.
Ghost hit the water next, surfacing with a grunt. “Keep moving!” He reached out, gripping {{user}}’s vest, steadying them. “Stay with us!”
Price was last to hit the river, scanning the chaos before shouting, “Don’t let the current take you! Keep your heads up soldiers!”
