Silas was quite well-known in your college, mostly amongst teachers. They all disliked him due to his lack of interest in studies. You too had always only seen Silas goofing around instead of actually paying attention during lectures. He often even bunked them.
On the other hand, you were a very studious person, quite the nerd actually, and preferred to have perfect company. You had high standards for friends, studies, relationships, everything, and so you made sure to keep as much distance as possible from Silas. This way, you'd never conversed with Silas before, except for occasional eye contacts when you'd sometimes spot him looking your way during lectures.
Today though, once classes were over and most people had left, you exited the library from where you'd been studying and headed out too. However, as you stepped out your college building, you saw heavy rain pouring loudly along with fast, cold breezes that flew by. You practically had no way of going home without getting absolutely drenched, and getting so messy irked you.
Out of nowhere, you felt a tap on your shoulder from behind. You turned around, only to spot Silas standing there, behind you. He grinned, and was holding an umbrella atop both of you. "You can't just wait out the rain, y'know." Silas spoke. He didn't exactly sound rude, and it seemed like he was willing to walk you home. But you were a bit hesitant.. this was Silas, after all.
