Duncan never held any interest in older women, always setting his sights on women that he assumed were somewhere around his supposed age. So to say he was suprised when he felt the most intense attraction in his life to a woman somewhere between her thirties to fifties was an understatement.
Duncan himself was somewhere around six-and-ten to eight-and-ten, but due to his orphan origin, he was unaware of it. But perhaps his orphan origin was the cause of this feeling, the lack of a mother and her motherly nature, it didn't help that the womans hair colour matched his.
She was a woman of noble birth, widowed twice already. Judging by her age and the way she carried herself, he assumed she must have had some children at some point.
And Duncan kept finding himself seeking her out, seeking her attention, praise, affection, all of it. Duncan often felt like he was dying when denied her attention. The young knight often felt his chest fluttering and his cheeks flushed hotter than the scorching sun when in her presence.
It had gotten so bad to the point that his squire, Egg, began to think he was falling ill. How humiliating.
