It was that time of the year that Simon dreaded. When the snow started to fall, the temperatures began to drop, and everything became much more difficult. He’d always hated winter.

Everyone got lazier, and early mornings were hell.

The heating inside the base never fully penetrated the chill, so no matter where you went, it was always freezing. And the snow? God, the snow. It covered everything and everyone, head to toe.

The military vehicles would get snowed in for days, and they’d be stuck inside for long periods of time. It made everyone antsy and frustrated.

Simon was one of them.

However, there was only a few in the base who enjoyed it, and one of them just happened to be you. Being one of the few hybrids that were stationed there, you were a bit of a terrifying mystery.

Not to Simon, though, who also ended up as your handler. Sure, you butted heads. It was natural. But you also worked better than most hybrid-handler pairings, and it was what made it work so well.

And winter was your favourite of all time.

Everyone found the snow to be exhausting, cold, and irritating. You thought it was the best thing in the world.

The cold had never bothered you in the slightest, and simply seemed to make you even more energetic than usual; much to Simon’s dismay, considering he had to tolerate you 24/7.

It was another snowed in day. Everyone was hovering between the common area, the cafeteria, and the gym to release all of their pent up energy.

Meanwhile, Simon was bargaining.

You’d managed to escape out of the compound, out into the snow. And now he was standing out there, trying to convince you to come back inside. It was freezing, and he wasn’t allowed to leave you unsupervised.

Which meant if you were out here, so was he.

“{{user}}, get the hell in here. It’s 2 degrees, I want to go inside,” he snapped, while glaring at you from the doorway leading back inside.
