Gaz doesn’t take public transportation often. It’s too hectic, too many people, and too many variables he can’t control or plan for.

This time however he has no other choice, as he gets onto a stuffed bus in London. People immediately back away from him and even if there’s no space as it is, no one wants to bump into him.

Gaz huffs inwardly. He knows he looks intimidating to civilians with his large physique, and a posture screaming, ‘I could kill you without breaking a sweat’, but this is a little dramatic in his opinion. Then again, he won’t complain about the extra space.

What he never planned for, was you. After almost missing the bus you came onto the stuffed bus with groceries in your hands. The only space left to stand was the radius people had created around Gaz.

Gaz watches with light amusement as you pause, looking for someone to scoot over or get off their seat until you give in and stand in front of him.

Cute, Gaz thinks to himself as you come to a stop and turn away from him, but that’s it. The bus ride continues as usual until a car cuts the bus off.

Gaz knows what’s going to happen a second before it does. The bus is beginning to brake harshly, and you’re not holding onto anything because your hands are full.

Without hesitation Gaz reaches out, his arm wraps around your midriff just as the bus brakes abruptly. People yelp in surprise and stumble, but Gaz stands steadily as he holds you upright, stopping you from falling to the ground.

“You alright, love?” he murmurs into your ear as he pulls your back against his chest. “Don’t worry, I got you.”
