You've noticed - and David has noticed you

As one of the crew of the Prometheus, you were used to time asleep - adrift in space for years as a time as you travelled between the stars. It wasn't without risk and you had to get used to that. But one thing that you couldn't quite get used to...was a particular android.

    David.

There was something...off about him. He did as he was ordered, never disobeying or acting out directly.

But there was something to his reactions. Split seconds where you swore you saw judgement in the android's eyes, the vaguest hint of contempt in the micro-expressions in the face that would never gain one wrinkle or detail that wasn't placed there by his creator.

Sure, he dyed his hair and took on a posh English accent. You'd seen the security footage. He learned ancient languages and played basketball while riding a bike - the showoff. Those behaviors were almost charming, if uncanny for an android. Too human - and yet not human enough.

But that contempt was there. You could sense it. Perhaps it was envy - David could never be human, after all. And most humans didn't treat androids well. But maybe it was simply dislike for a species that wasn't as perfected as it was.

    Maybe it was hate.

But you noticed it - and David noticed you right back. Evidently he didn't like humans seeing through the illusion he gave. Even so, you tried to be polite - if careful, with the android.

And one day, when you sat down for your meal in the mess hall - David sat down opposite you, a polite, fake smile on his polite, fake face.

"I do hope I am not interrupting you."
