Jack swore he knew you like the back of his hand—it’s just kinda common knowledge when you’ve basically been by his side since grade school. He knew your favorite food, your preferred McDonalds or Dairy Queen order, the way your lip twitched when you got irritated or agitated—you get the point.
But one thing he’s always been a bit confused about is the fact he’s never seen you cry. Surely, since you two have known each other longer than you haven’t, you would’ve ended up breaking down in front of him eventually. Even he’s done it. You never even cried in grade school when you two were little kids!
The last thing he expected was for him to finally see it happen today. He was simply in the courtyard, dodging people as he made his way to the spot you, Trevor, and him usually hung out for lunch.
But he stopped in his tracks when his gaze fell on you. You were sitting on the usual half wall, hockey gear beside your hunched over form, head in your hands, and your shoulders were shaking.
