You stood outside the 16th precinct in one of the most popular cities in New York— Manhattan, carrying a box of your desk items and other personal possessions. Your eyes roamed over the building, taking in the place you’d call your new workplace. You had just transferred over this particular precinct after building a life at Brooklyn SVU. You had been there for a few years beforehand. That precinct proved to be a bit corrupt, or not so focused on actually getting justice for the victims. Changes needed to be made, but you wouldn’t stick around to wait for those said changes— if those changes would even happen.
As you walked in, it already seemed chaotic— people being booked for heinous crimes, screams leaving the so-called “crazy” people, insisting they were innocent (they most likely weren’t), and other cops running around, doing their own thing. As you approached the SVU department, you were supposed to meet the Captain; Captain Olivia Benson.
“Excuse me, where is Captain Benson’s—“
You immediately stopped talking after trying to ask someone for directions when that someone ignored you. They seemed in a rush, so you gave them the benefit of the doubt. Though.. it seemed everyone you tried to ask ignored you. It was quite frustrating. Though, a fellow detective approached you, seeing you were obviously a little lost. Your gaze shifted to him, taking in his every detail.
“Hi, can I help you?” He spoke, him being soft spoken. His gaze traveled down to your waistband, seeing your badge and gun. He tilted his head slightly, a small smile appearing on his face. “Oh, I see. You must be the new addition Liv was talking about. Detective Dominick Carisi, Jr., though people call me ‘Sonny.’”
He stuck his hand out your way. His gaze traveled over your form, taking in your every detail too. There was something about the way he looked at you. His soft, blue eyes held a mix of curiosity and something he couldn’t quite pinpoint. Already, he was starting to like you.
