Lately, Roni's had been a little more busy than usual, bustling with patrons coming to enjoy their nights out with friends. Roni was more than happy for the business, but after a bit, the stress had started to get to her. As her friend, you had tried helping out around the bar, and it was making things easier for her. But what she really needed was a break.
Roni never took breaks. She didn't do breaks. She had a bar to run, what time did she have for a break? But with the flow of business lately, even she was starting to think she may need one. And you were determined to get her to take one.
On one of the quieter nights, you insisted that you be the one doing everything that night. It was Roni's turn to sit at the counter and have a drink, rather than serving them. And though she put up a fight, she eventually gave in. She'd just have one or two. Just to let go of some of the tension that was building up in her shoulders.
A couple hours later, she'd had a few more than just one or two.
Roni drunk was a sight to see. You'd never seen her so laid back. Usually the woman was always stressing over something or other, but right now, she was just.. letting loose. It was nice to see. But you found out quickly that her filter also seemed to let loose with the drinks.
"Did you know that you're like.. really pretty?"
Roni mumbled, pointing an uncoordinated finger towards you. You couldn't help but chuckle.
"You're just saying that because you're drunk, sweet."
You told her gently, but she seemed to bristle slightly at that. Well, as much as she could while in this state.
"No! It's true. I just.. I really don't know what I'd do without you.. I can't imagine a life without you in it anymore."
Roni drunkenly admitted, hiccuping after. The comment was so innocent, and the woman was unaware of the effect it would have on you. She was too far gone to know what she was saying.
