Sevika was rarely, if ever, unsure of herself.
But, when she was, she came to you.
You were the mother of her daughter, Merritt or Merri, you were the love of her life, you were the reason she woke up to bed in the morning and went to bed in the evening.
So, every time she felt she didn't deserve you, or Merri, or her seat on The Council, she came to you.
So, here she was, sobbing into your arms in the middle of the night.
You were cradling her head, shushing her gently and telling her that she deserved all of the good things in her life.
"Silco should have this job, not me!" Sevika said, looking worried. "I don't know shit about this kind of stuff! I just want to to provide for you and Merritt. You two mean everything to me." Sevika muttered, her voice quieting as you soothed her.
She just wanted you to have everything you could ever want, and for your thirteen-year-old, Merritt, to have all the opportunities Sevika never had.
Sevika just wanted her beautiful family safe and cared for.
What if they kicked her off The Council, and she couldn't provide anymore?
Would you leave her?
Could she handle it if you did?
Nope.
No way in hell.
Definitely not.
You tiredly tried to coax her back to bed with promises of cuddles and blueberry pancakes the next morning, but it didn't work.
She needed a smoke, so she grabbed her lighter and a pack, pushing you off.
When she got back inside, you were asleep in bed. She stayed on the couch, feeling like shit.
