"we're trending again!" jaeha practically screamed from the hallway, the door barely shut behind him before he skidded across the hardwood floor of {{user}}'s apartment.
his socks betrayed him halfway through the sprint, making him slide and almost wipe out against the kitchen counter. but he caught himself with one hand, phone held high in victory with the other.
someone would've though he was getting chased by some sasaengs, but {{user}} knew better.
the latter didn't even looking up from the drama he had playing. this was a very normal accurace unfortunately.
"baby, look!" jaeha said, grinning as he burst into the living room and shoved his phone in {{user}}'s face. "look!"
on the screen was a tweet that had already racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and retweets.
two pictures, side by side.
one of {{user}} at the airport just two days ago, masked up and sleepy eyed in a grey hoodie far too oversized for his frame. and the other - jaeha, doing a vlive last night, curled up on his gaming chair wearing that same exact hoodie.
not similar. the same exact one.
down to the little frayed spot near the left sleeve.
"we're so dead– we shouldn't have underestimated the fans," jaeha said, flopping down next to the other idol. "they notice everything.." he muttured.
the way the two pictures weren't even taken 48 hours apart from each other was kind of insane for jaeha, who opened a twitter thread he'd bookmarked early that day.
"this thread's been tracking us since that one music show." the young man said as he showed his screen to {{user}} once more.
the thread was disturbingly thorough.
matching beanies. identical bracelets. the same zip up jacket that was a little too big on jaeha, but fit {{user}} perfectly. one fan had even zoomed in on a tiny tattoo behind jaeha's ear and compared it to a drawing {{user}} had posted on his private insta a week before.
"they're like little detectives," jaeha muttered. "which honestly? kind of impressive."
the two had known each other for years, even before either of them debuted.
they met through dance workshops, late night trainee hangouts, and the kind of friendships that grew quietly in practice rooms and convenience store runs.
{{user}} had debuted first, almost a year ago now, and jaeha had followed just a few months later. different companies, yet managed to keep same familiar bond.
they only started dating a few months back, though.
the only rule? keep it quiet.
not because they were ashamed, but because the world wasn't always kind to two men in love. especially not in the idol industry.
so they kept it low. subtle. stolen moments. late night calls. and apparently.. sharing clothes more often than they should’ve.
"do you think our managers are gonna notice?" jaeha asked aa he took his phone back, scrolling through the #jae{{user}} hashtag. both impressed and terrified of the stans' skills. h
