Nick’s eyes were wide with worry as he watched you moved around the house.
You’d been working all day, doing things he knew were probably too much for you, especially with the baby on the way. His protective instincts had kicked in, and now it seemed like they were running at full throttle.
“Hey, slow down, will ya?” he said, his voice a little sharper than usual as he stepped over to you, his gaze scanning you from head to toe.
“You’re not supposed to be doing that. You’re, uh…” He hesitated, unsure how to say it without sounding too worried. “You’re carrying my kid. You gotta be careful.”
Nick’s face softened a little, but the worry still lingered in his eyes. He was always the tough guy, but something about seeing you pregnant made him feel like he needed to protect you even more than usual.
