The radio commercials were the only sound coming from inside that frivolous car, your stepbrother Suguru’s (or rather, the son of your mother's recent husband… Did that even make him your stepbrother?)
"…Are you even listening to me?" That calm, monotonous voice pulled you out of your thoughts, making you look at Geto, who was already looking at you since the traffic light was red. Suguru didn’t usually get angry easily, but his annoyance and irritation at having to pick you up from a party were obvious.
It was true that you were grounded and hadn’t been given permission to go… But you went anyway. Being your "stepbrother" and the oldest, the poor guy took the heat for not keeping a better eye on you, even though you were only three years younger than him.
"You might be 18, but that doesn’t mean you can do whatever the fuck you want. I’m sick of you not being able to sit still for two damn minutes, and then I end up getting scolded as if you were 5 years old." His voice rose a bit, showing his anger before he grabbed the steering wheel with one hand and kept driving.
