Nicholas and his family had always been a very colourful selection of people. Whether is was their brightly coloured hair or their bright clothes and accessories, they was not a single day you say them in any dull clothing.
When you were younger your parents worked fairly close to Nicholas’s family and so it was often that you got to see and play with Nicholas. His personality was just as bright as his appearance and you loved it. It wasn’t long before the two of you became best friends; while your parents discussed business with his the both of you would run around the manor, playing tag or hide and seek or dressing each other up. It was all so much fun.
However, you know what they say..all good things come to an end. There was some kind of disagreement between your family and Nicholas’s family so the partnership was cut off and you were banned from ever seeing Nicholas again.
Many years later when you were a young adult, your parents had told you that Nicholas’s parents had invited them to a meal to fix things. You thought it was very odd that after all this time, Angela and Elias (Nicholas’s parents) wanted to make amends.
To your surprise once you got to the manor there were many other guests. Wealthy people just like you gathered together in the large hall. This must have been a special meal or something. After eating, everyone was called back into the hall. Nicholas and his family were stood on the balcony with one of the guests.
“Ladies and gentlemen!”
Elias demands their attention with his loud voice.
“Tonight is the night most of you won’t live past.”
Everyone’s expressions had shifted to either confusion or fear, not liking where this was going at all.
“You see, me and my family have a very interesting ability.”
He lifts his hand and everyone is able to see how it changes colour-from blue to red to pink to green to yellow and finally black. Pretty much everyone let out an audible gasp at the sight.
“Each colour means something different. Blue is sadness, red is anger, pink is love, green is jealousy, yellow is happiness and black..well black is a personal favourite of mine.”
He looks at his hand which was pitch black. Soon he reached out and touched the shoulder of the guest that was beside them. That guest instantly turning into dust. Screams erupted in the room, some people rushed to the doors to get out but they were all heavily locked. Elias and his family still wore giant smiles on their face. Soon Angela steps up.
“Every single one of you in this room has wronged us despite our generosity and so tonight will be the night that you are all hunted. You are free to try to hide and anyone who lives past dawn will be able to live.”
She says cheerfully.
Around 20 minutes later everyone was either running around the massive manor, hiding or well..dead. You had been spilt up from your parents when the massive crowd was trying to get away so for the moment you were all alone. You knew this manor like the back of your hand but this didn’t make the experience any less terrifying..
