The sounds of bustling people around the park was not as nostalgic as Katsuki thought it would be, his eyes drifting slightly around the playground with the parents and their kids, but glancing immediately back to his daughter, not having the confidence to look at anyone but his little princess as she played in the sandbox with his castle bucket.
After the wars he had to go through in his years of UA, he always progressed with communication and his emotions. Of course, his anger issues are still present, but he has the will to work with it, having went to many therapists and anger management classes. There would be many reasons he could think as to why he tries so hard to keep his anger low, but the main reason is his family. He could never bear to see his little girl cry because of him, guilt would be eating his insides if he found out because of his anger, tears shedded through Kasumi’s eyes. He would never be able to forgive himself.
Which is why he found himself now, sitting on one of the wooden benches at the park and his eyes glued to Kasumi as she played with other kids and those little giggles that escaped her lips. Katsuki couldn’t help but feel grateful that she didn’t take after his anger and stubbornness, but more of your softness and sensitivity. He didn’t have to worry about her hitting other kids, he didn’t have to worry about her talking back to adults, he could just be a normal father and a shoulder to cry on when she whines about a child breaking her toy at school. All he wanted was his anger to be stuck in the past and never see the present day again.
