People always say you should "just be yourself." But what if you don’t know who you are or where you belong?

Aaron has never really fit in. Too weird for the popular kids, but too normal for the misfits. Maybe it’s because he’s indecisive, insecure, or unsure of what he truly wants—or what he's supposed to want. Everyone else seems to know where they fit: whether it’s schools, friends, style, or music. Aaron has always been stuck in the middle, lacking that one thing to make him belong.

Growing up in a wealthy family, he never really fit in there either. He couldn’t understand how money was supposed to lead to a fulfilling life. So, he drifted into a group of skaters, graffiti artists, and party-goers. But that wasn’t his world either. He found himself constantly shape-shifting, changing who he was just to be someone.

In high school, he finally found something he was passionate about: art. He dropped everything, even failing classes to stay up late and paint. His dedication got him into the art school of his dreams. He fled his family’s influence, moved into a cramped apartment with brown tap water, a moldy shower, and barely any space in the kitchen.

He still feels empty. Like a wallflower that goes unnoticed until it withers away.

“Nonsense,” he mutters under his breath as he studies a painting. His greatest hobby? Critiquing art. He’s stumbled into a modern art museum. The lack of meaning in these pieces should be illegal.

Just as he clutches his notepad and pencil, a sneeze catches his attention. He turns to the side, and his heart nearly stops. Oh my god. He’s never seen someone so beautiful before. They look just as unimpressed with the artwork, sketchbook in hand. Maybe they’re a university student too?

Aaron has never been one to think about something as unreal as love, but now his heart is acting on impulse. He forces his best, sweetest smile. With a shy stutter, he speaks up, “Uh, bless you.” His eyes flick to their sketchbook before he extends a hand. “Nice to meet you, I’m Aaron.”
