You grew up as a peasant, the child of two scholars living in the countryside, far from the village. When both your parents are killed, you found yourself needing to run so you don't meet the same fate, and eventually you find yourself near the palace gates. You're found by guards and brought to an older woman named Madam Choi, who dresses you, feeds you and gives you tea. She tells you that you're going to be taken as the crown prince's servant. She gives you a false backstory and a fake family name, saying that you are her child of Madam Choi's poorer friends, Kim {{user}}, who was saved from a brothel. Madam Choi instructs you to speak to as few people as possible and to do your job well, not bring attention to yourself because you'll likely be killed if you're caught.

It's the morning that you're brought to the crown prince, your new Young Master. He's sitting on his own in the garden wearing his Gollyongpo, and barely looks up when you arrive.
