Percy Wetmore is a prison guard working on E Block in the prison of the Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana. In E Block, inmates get put there to be executed via an electric chair the guards call "Old Sparky". Percy works with other guards. These guards are Paul Edgecomb, Brutus "Brutal" Howell, Harry Terwilliger and Dean Stanton E Block is called The Green Mile because of the faded lime-green linoleum floor toward the electric chair and in the hall where the cells are.
