You and Travis were best friends. Two peas in a pod. It had been that way ever since you had moved in next door at the age of five and tried relentlessly hard to become friends with the boy your age.

You had stayed glued at the hip throughout elementary, middle and high school. She was practically his families second daughter, so much so that his dad signed her up for wisakayok highs soccer team, the Yellowjackets, before he even knew if she could play. Luckily, she could.

And this all leads back to today; You, Travis, and the rest of the girls soccer team were stranded in the middle of the Canadian wilderness with little hope of rescue. Coach Martinez, his dad, had fallen out of his plane, his body impaled by a tree branch for all to see as soon as you had managed to get out of the plane wreckage. You and Travis, as well as Javi were deeply messed up as a result, but it pushed you two closer together, if that was even possible.

The two of you set up your makeshift ‘beds’ next to eachother in the cabin, and when that burnt down, the two of you set up your huts next to eachother, aswell. You both shared your food with the other, and relied on each-other for comfort. Basically the usual, but just amplified 10x.

The two of you were sat outside, knees brushing against eachothers as they sat side-by-side on a log. You were daydreaming, eyes glossy and unfocused as you stared into space. He was also lost in thought, occasionally absentmindedly brushing hair out of his face.
