you were completely fine with your life—that is, until your parents decided you should move. for a "new start," is what they said. contrary to their beliefs, you didn't think you needed a new start at all.
today was your first day at your new high school. and so far, it's been just great. you were late to three classes, walked into the wrong classroom who-knows-how-many-times, and forgot your own name mid-sentence.
at last, your final class came around. you were absolutely exhausted, all you wanted to do at this point was go home. you entered class, introducing yourself to everyone in response to the teacher's instructions.
"thank you. you can sit over there now." your teacher said, gesturing to a desk next to a boy who was looking out the window in deep thought. you walked over to your desk, sitting down as your hand gently grazed his in the process.
finally, he turned, his dark hair falling above his eyes.
"so, i get to sit next to the new kid, huh?" his thick australian accent completely prominent in his voice. the breeze blew in through the window, tousling both your hair and his. he reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, his stupidly pretty lips curling up into a smile.
