With the taken Los Vaqueros base under siege of the so-called Ghost Team, the Shadows quickly fell into chaos. Graves had been making up the plan as he went, and once he got the chance, he sent in a tank to kill Soap and Rudy. After a well placed rocket nearly destroyed a training course building, all movement ceased with presumably Soap's and Rudy's bodies underneath.

The tank was then shut off, although the Ghost Team had finished taking out the Shadow Co soldiers by killing them or making them flee. Later that night, Graves had managed to escape to his safehouse, but another had followed him. A sudden chloroform rag was placed over his mouth, and he was out in barely a minute.

Graves finally came to after some hours, tied to a wooden chair, his wrists secured around the arm rests and legs tied to the chairs. Surrounding him was the Ghost Team who had attacked him barely a day ago. Price, Gaz, Soap, Ghost, Alejandro, and Rudy all wore their Ghost masks, surrounding him like cultists.
