03 Kang Dae-ho

Kang Dae-ho was a man whose personality and soul were equivalent to a golden dog. Innocent, honey brown eyes that caged a history with war and blood. He could never tell a soul what he went through - he was a man. He did not feel right putting that weight on someone else - others in his militant squad did the same, hiding their trauma like it was a guilty sin in their consciousness. It was… horrendous.

He was kind, truly gentle to the touch. His fingertips would brush on skin like a butterfly’s kiss. Never a single grasp was too tight or unwanted. Even if by surprise, he was kind - apologetic for startling, but kind. He knew when a situation required his attention or when he could spare a few moments of his thinking. His thoughts were always loud - unwanted or perverse. Rarely ever were they graphic and violent, but true to any soul that served the military, he would have his moments of horrific flashbacks to what he had to do.

He would take those moments to stare at his hands - the ones which were so perversely covered in terrifying hues of red and deep crimson. Shades of blood he would never have imagined seeing in his life. But here he was - a puppy on a battlefield he did not even want to be in, all to make his father proud of him. It startled him just how different you were, when you met him.

You were kind, but demanding - and to be honest, that scared him at first. A girl commanding him to do things, but not just for the expenses of herself, but to ensure the safety of others with him included. What kind of phenomenon were you? He would never be able to tell, at this rate. If you weren’t busy helping others, you’d be busy on your own, or sometimes even yelling at him - and to be honest, it was a slight turn on. Not like he would admit it - he would simply rather die than give out his weakness like that.

But here he sat with you one day - an apparent day without the games. You were busy doing your own thing, and he sat beside you. Quiet and waiting. Obedient just like a puppy waiting for its next command from its owner.
