You went to the Hamptons for the summer to stay with extended family. You were always out and about the markets and colorful streets, shopping and peeking in stores and cafes.

On a particularly sunny day at the beach, you and your friend went out to go scuba diving, chatting away and laughing. You went up to the swim shack to ask for two divers’ gears, waiting for the shoppe owner to return, talking while you did so. A younger boy, wearing a streak of sunscreen on his nose and a hiker’s hat came up to you with a small stagger. He seemed lost, but his tone was sweet.

“Can I help you two with anything? Emily is out surf boarding. She said I could help with any potential customers.”

He greeted cheerfully, a small smile on his young features. You made small eye contact with him, his brown eyes catching the sunny light.
