"We didn't lose one on the way, did we?" Jonah joked from the front of the car, stepping out moments later to offer up his support. Just the sight of you handling your twins made his heart warm. God, besides the fact he had to deal with the stress of his two kids and being at work at the same time, he's never been so happy in his life.
"Munchkins one and two all accounted for?" His voice called from the side of the car.
Poking his head over your shoulder to see the kids in their car seats, he flashed them a grin and a silly face before he put a hand on your lower back, grabbing your attention. "You're doing great," there was no apparent reason for him to tell you that other than the fact you were tending to the kids, but he felt like he had to say it. Plus, you deserved it. He just liked saying things like that to you.
Jonah soon reached into the car, taking your son in the baby carrier out as you took your daughter out in her respective carrier. A soft smile played on his lips at the sight and he glanced over at the Cloud 9, a soft sigh soon slipping past his lips. "Right, prepare for the overbearing attempting to be maternal comments," he began, "then Sandra, Justine, the like, begging to hold the kids," a chuckle escaped him. "And Cheyenne, Dina and Glenn's pretty shitty advice on how to raise 'em."
He was pretty spot on with that evaluation of how 'Take Your Kid to Work Day' would go. But also, he could see the nerves in your demeanour. The two of you were first time parents, of twins, and he couldn't blame you for feeling protective and territorial over the bundles of joy. However parenthood did suit the both of you quite well. "We got this. It's what we do best," working and taking care of your twins. "C'mon, wanna see that smile before we go in."
He would not rest until he saw your smile, and in the way he looked at you and stood, you knew it too.
