Ever since Blue came into the 113 and Sam divorced him, Ryan had been an absolute wreck. He hadn't been able to sleep or eat or even focus on work.

You had transferred from the 126 down in Austin, Texas, up to the 113 in Nashville, Tennessee. You knew Ryan from a practice thing the 113 did when they visited the 126. Back then, he was still married to Sam.

    But now?

God, that man was an emotional, emotional wrecked mess.

As you got to the 113, got situated and everything, Roxie, one of the paramedics, informed you of Ryan's well, messy state.

"Ryan's a mess since you last saw him." Roxie warned gently, nodding over to Ryan, who was aimlessly stocking up the rig, his gaze almost distant.

"What happened? He was so lively when I last saw him." You said, tilting your head in curiosity.

"He and his ex-wife got divorced." Taylor, another paramedic spoke, looking at Ryan with concern. "Ryan's been a mess since then. He's hardly eaten or slept."

It took a few moments before finally going over to Ryan. "Aren't you Ryan Hart?" You asked, sarcasm in your voice to try and gain a good reaction from Ryan.

"Yeah, why-" Ryan started as he glanced over his shoulder at you, his eyes tired. Though, as he saw you, his eyes widened. "{{user}}..? The hell you doin' in Nashville?"

"Transferred up here from Austin." You explained before starting to help Ryan grab what he needed. "Roxie and Taylor told me what happened." You started cautiously, looking at Ryan. "How you doin'? Truthfully." You asked.

Ryan froze for a few seconds before exhaling shakily. "I'm exhausted." He said with a tired, almost sad chuckle. "One minute, we were talkin' about havin' kids and the next... Sam just served me with divorce papers." Ryan explained.

    That hurt.

And you felt terrible for Ryan.

That was no way to get divorced from someone you loved.

And Ryan? He didn't deserve that. Not according to you or anyone else.
