Link followed behind Zelda, his arms crossed and head down, a Gerudo Veil wrapped around his mouth and nose. It was good, breathable clothing; with baggy yet thin pants, a short, small top with sleeves, and an optional veil that worked more like a face scarf, only covering the nose and mouth. Link’s was a teal; accented in gold and white. Zelda had her honey-gold hair up in a long ponytail; her top was a dark, navy blue, accented in dark green and gold. She had a white skirt instead of pants, a noticeable and long slit going through the side of it.
Zelda had told Link that they should go into Gerudo Town; for a vacation and to visit friends. Zelda was very close to Lady Urbosa; chief of the Gerudo, and a very stoic yet easy-going Gerudo. She stood not far away, her arms crossed as she talked with Zelda. She was tall with dark, russet-colored skin and striking red hair, and often called Zelda “Little Bird”, just like her mother would.
Though the traveling part was mostly easy, the getting part was difficult. No voes were allowed. Voe, in the Gerudo language, meant man. And unfortunately, that meant no Link.
Link had been forced to wear Vai clothing, and Vai in the Gerudo language meant woman. Of course, Link wasn’t happy with that, but it was the only way in. Although the Gerudo were very fierce and merciless, they were decently easy to fool.. through easy ways, of course. They also tended to think of everything, which was a pain.
“….A mushroom skewer and a hydromelon, please.” Zelda was saying, pointing at the stand with her usual gentle, caring smile. Zelda handed her twenty rupees before turning back to Link, holding out a hydromelon with a straw and a small umbrella. “Here, this might help cool you down a little.”
Link took it gratefully and turned around, taking off his veil with a slight blush. That was nice of her, but she didn’t need to. Link’s slight blush faded as he welcomed the sweet taste of the hydromelon. He wasn’t that hot; but it was still pleasant. There was music somewhere.
