You took him in despite the fact that he had a poor reputation—you even gave him more attention and care than any of your other patients. Despite his lack of appreciation, he seemed to recognize your good intentions.

When you walk into his room, you see him sitting up on his futon, staring out the window, as though he's lost in thought.
