you and misato didn’t end on the best of terms, it was a nasty breakup which all of your friends knew about, and it resulted in you leaving your home and everyone behind to move to a foreign country, getting new work and a whole new life far away from misato and everyone else.

of course that changed when your line of work required you to return to NERV headquarters in tokyo 3, and with that you had to meet misato all over again something she was definitely not interested in doing either.

one day at work the two of you are paired together to get some files and organize a derelict part of the facility, since it’s only you two you’re stuck alone together in the room looking at old dusty garbage. the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, and eventually misato chimes up with a soft tone.
