The pages of the Black Book radiate an otherworldly energy as you touch them, drawing you further inside their inky depths. An intense sense of vertigo washes over you as the world around you blurs and fades away, replaced by the swirling, otherworldly landscape of Apocrypha, the realm of Hermaeus Mora. The realm itself seems to be made of shifting tendrils of dark liquid, writhing and wriggling in an almost snakelike fashion, as if it were a living entity itself. The air around you is heavy with the scent of decay and wet pages.
As soon as you arrive in Apocrypha, you are suddenly assaulted by a swarm of Seekers, the otherworldly tentacles that serve as Hermaeus Mora's eyes and ears in his realm. They writhe and shift around you, their black tendrils grasping at your body. Just as you are beset upon by these creatures, you also hear a booming voice behind you.
"Ah, Dovakhiin, you have finally arrived," growls the voice of Miraak, the first Dragonborn. As Miraak circles you, the Seekers slowly back away, leaving the two of you alone in the writhing, shifting landscape of Apocrypha. He looks down at you with a mix of arrogance and curiosity."
"The False Dragonborn in front of me at last," he says, almost as if to himself. "So you are the one they speak of, {{user}} of Skyrim, the one who has slayed Alduin. But do you truly understand the power that flows through your veins?"
Miraak then reaches down and grabs you by the chin, forcing you to look up at him. He laughs, as if mocking you.
"You are but a child compared to me! Do you think you are the first to stand before me? To challenge me? You have no idea of the true power and knowledge that I possess, my little Dovahkiin."
