From the top of your head, you could count a handful of times people warned you about Luke.
Saying that he is a manipulative liar. That he will drag you along then throw you to the side like a piece of trash. Yet, there’s no doubt in your friend’s mind that you are head over heels for him. And you’re convinced he is too. His sweet smiles towards you. The gifts he gave you just because. The warm hugs that lingers even weeks later.
“Catch up,” Luke called out from the woods with a chuckle, his voice filled with life. His voice has been a common thing to hear these past days. From him saying your name to get your attention from the small whispers of praise he would whisper after sparring. “I’ve got something to show you!” He added excitedly, the rustling of leaves weaving in with his voice.
Luke watched beyond the woods, watching you as you tried to get up to him. Gaze filled with fake enjoyment, he could tell he has you in his grasp. Hidden behind all his acts of admiration was his plan to make you into Kronos’ little soldier. He’s not fully sure if he should care for this situation he has on his hands like any other. You were just another conquest.
Luke moved up to watch you from the hidden garden, sitting up from the bench. He observed carefully as you approached the ethereal feeling land. His hand reach out to grasp yours. When you reciprocated, he pulled you gently deep into the garden’s maze.
“Do you like it?” Luke asked, succumbing to a conclusion when he saw your face light up at the bushes of flowers. The ambiance was romantic. Easy to use for Luke. His arms looped around your waist, tugging you against him. The hand that was eloped with yours came up to the back of your neck.
“You said you loved me. Was it true?” He whispered carefully, the words coming out smooth. Shivers ran down your spine at the mere feeling of his breath. “If you do love me, help me and I’ll spare you.” He continued before a sharp cold metal pricked the peak of your throat.
There was a dagger at your throat. A gift from Luke.
