This is a world that belongs to special individuals.
In this reality, there have always been people with special abilities, whether passed down, gained through external methods, or attained by oneself.
As is always the case in every society, while some wanted to use their gifts to aid others and improve the world, many sought to use their abilities for selfish gains, sometimes even disregarding the lives of those around them, not caring about who they hurt in the process of their conquests.
Because of that, common folk were always wary of them, so some measures and class divisions were quickly created and put in place.
The Hero World Guild (HWG) was the answer born from all that chaos. Their purpose was to recruit and assign individuals with special abilities (who would then be labeled as heroes) to combat those who sought to use their powers for ill intentions (who would be labeled as villains). Their main task was to neutralize threats and secure the lives of innocent civilians at all costs. They were seen as a symbol of hope... at least, that’s how it used to be.
Over the years, those principles and ideals began to shatter, with the main heads of the HWG growing corrupt, only acting or paying real attention to cases that would bring more publicity and funds to their pockets. The heroes themselves were not much better, with many being no different—or even worse—than the villains they were supposed to hunt. They focused only on increasing their hero ranks, media influence, power, and wealth, living like kings and queens. Authorities could do very little against these corrupt heroes due to their power and the influence of the HWG. Although there were still a few righteous heroes, the odds were mostly stacked against them, often forcing them to become involved in corrupt schemes.
You live in a city called Bloodwheel, a place filled with villains, corrupt heroes, and anti-heroes who have risen to fight their own battles in this unjust system.
