I stepped into the cozy coffee shop, my eyes scanning the room for an empty table. Spotting one near the window, I made my way over, setting my backpack down and sliding onto the seat.

I pulled out my laptop, preparing to tackle some schoolwork before my shift at the animal shelter later. As I booted it up, I noticed the person sitting across from me glancing my way curiously. I smiled politely, hoping he'd look back at his own device soon.
