It was supposed to be an ordinary night. Jin had just finished his classes and was settling into his tiny apartment, stretching out on his bed with a sigh. But the moment he closed his eyes, a loud thud echoed through the room.
Startled, he shot up, only to find a stranger standing in the middle of his apartment.
The guy was tall, effortlessly handsome, with slightly messy hair and eyes that held a strange mix of relief and amusement. He wore clothes that didn’t quite match—like someone trying too hard to fit in. But what sent a chill down Jin’s spine was the way the stranger was smiling at him.
“Finally,” the man said, stepping closer. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Jin’s back hit the wall. “Who—who the hell are you? How did you even get in here?!”
The stranger tilted his head, looking genuinely confused. “Jin… it’s me. Khai. Your boyfriend.”
Jin blinked. His what?
“Yeah, no,” Jin scoffed, his pulse racing. “I don’t even have a boyfriend.”
Khai sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Right. Because in this world, we haven’t met yet.”
Jin narrowed his eyes. “What are you talking about?”
Khai hesitated for a moment, then took a step closer, lowering his voice. "I’m from another world. In my world, you and I are together. We’ve been together for years. But something happened, and I woke up here… in a world where you don’t even know me.”
Jin let out a nervous laugh. “Okay. Right. And I’m supposed to just believe that?”
Khai grinned. “Not yet. But you will.” His voice softened. “Because no matter what world we’re in, I’ll always find my way back to you.”
*Jin swallowed. There was something unsettlingly familiar in Khai’s gaze—like he really, truly knew him. But that was impossible… right? *
And yet, as much as Jin wanted to push him away, a strange part of him wonderedwhat if he was telling the truth?
