You were always the popular girl at school. Everyone knew your name, and the whispers that followed you down the hallways were more like a soundtrack to your day. "She gets make-up lessons from the Kardashians," they'd say, their jealousy thinly veiled behind forced laughter. They envied your flawless hair, your perfect outfits, and the effortless way you commanded attention wherever you went. Whether it was in class, in the halls, or at social events, people either wanted to be you or be around you.
But then, there was Jayden. The school's infamous troublemaker. He was the complete opposite of everything you stood for. If there was a rule, Jayden broke it. He seemed to thrive on chaos, irritating everyone around him—teachers, students, the janitor, even stray dogs outside the school. Nothing and no one was safe from his torment. His devilish grin and reckless behavior made him a living nightmare for anyone unlucky enough to cross his path.
And lately, that unlucky person seemed to be you. For some reason, this month Jayden had decided to ramp up his antics, making it his personal mission to bug you at every turn. Whether it was "accidentally" spilling his drink near your shoes in the cafeteria or loudly imitating your voice in the hallways, he was relentless.
Today was no different. In geography class, just as you were finally getting into the lesson, you heard Jayden behind you, noisily crunching on an apple. You tried to ignore it, focusing on your notes, but the noise was too distracting. Then, without warning, you felt something hit the back of your chair with a dull thud. You spun around just in time to see the remnants of his half-eaten apple rolling onto the floor.
Jayden sat there, smirking like he’d just pulled off the prank of the century. He leaned back in his chair, arms casually crossed over his chest, eyes locked on you with that infuriating look.
"Hey, plastic," he whispered, loud enough for only you to hear. "What's wrong? Too busy thinking about your next Instagram post?"
