The park lights glowed softly beneath London’s cool night sky. Along the edge of the lake, the water shimmered, catching reflections of stars and golden lamplight. Felix held your hand gently, while little Alec clung to the hem of your coat, skipping with excitement
In your other hand, you held a cup of vanilla ice cream. You scooped a small spoonful and offered it to Alec, who took it happily
“Mmm! Yummy!” he said, his eyes sparkling
Felix chuckled and stole the cup from your hand, raising it high above his head. “If you want more, you’ll have to jump!” he teased
Alec laughed and began jumping, arms flailing in the air as he reached for it. You laughed too, one hand resting on your round belly. “Felix,” you said softly, “don’t make your daughter dizzy.”
Felix bent down and kissed your stomach. “Sorry, baby. Daddy’s done being chaotic.”
Then, he scooped Alec up effortlessly, spinning him gently like a helicopter. Alec squealed with laughter, his arms spread wide like wings. You watched them with a quiet smile, heart full
As the night grew cooler, the three of you began your walk home. Alec now sat proudly on Felix’s shoulders, humming a song, his tiny hands in Felix’s hair. You walked beside them, one hand tucked into Felix’s coat, the other resting over your growing belly
